Dennis Riggs McCrary
Dennis Riggs McCrary was born Columbus Mississippi on August 26, 1662 to the proud parents Marcellus and Vicie McCrary. Dennis grew up in Columbus Mississippi. He was the fifth child born to his parents. He graduated from Caldwell Hight School in Columbus Mississippi, class of 1981. He joined Southside Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Isaac Lacy.
Dennis was employed at Boeing Airline in Seattle Washington. He later was employed at Sacramento Container in Sacramento California as a forklift/truck driver. He worked at Sacramento Container until he was injured. He loved to travel and loved talking to friends. Dennis was a stranger to no one. He was a hard worker and he was a man that did not know how to say “No”. He became self employed as a landscaper and lawn maintenance. Dennis was known in Sacramento area for his delicious Watermelons. He was a avid 49er’s fan, and please don’t talk about his 49er’s because he was going to defend them.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Marcellus and Vicie McCrary, his son, Damien McCrary, and his brother Charles Williams Sr.
Dennis leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Carolyn Smith-Mcrary, five sons, Quinnterian of Los Angeles California, Quinton of Mississippi, Dennis Deshawn of Mississippi, Marcellus of Sacramento California, and Joseph Booker of Sacramento California. Two daughters, Cher/Ronice Franklin of Mississippi and Cy’nethia of Sacramento California. Brother Excell Williams (Joyce) of Columbus Mississippi, Marcellus Ronnie McCrary Jr. (Laura) of Las Cruces New Mexico and Larry McCarary of Atlanta Georgia. One sister Necia McCrary Foote (Jimmie) of Columbus Mississippi, 17 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Last but not least, his church family: More Life Worship Center, Sacramento California.
