Pastor Tommy G. Amos
Tommy Gene Amos was born August 31, 1954 to Eckie and Para Lee Amos in Teague, Texas. He attended public school in Buffalo, Texas and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1972.
Tommy enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 18 years old. He came to California as he was stationed at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, California.
Tommy met Joyce in Tulare, CA at a church service, and after dating for eight months they united in Holy Matrimony. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force for 2 1/2 years. They started their family and were blessed with their first beautiful daughter Alicia Rachelle Amos.
In 1979 they moved to Sacramento, CA and in 1980 they were blessed with another beautiful daughter Amber Celeste Amos.
In 1980, the family joined Calvary Christian Ministries, where Tommy served many years. He became the associate Pastor under Senior Pastor Phillip Goudeaux. He was asked to take over a church in Stockton as Senior Pastor in which he accepted. He pastored the Stockton Christian Ministries for 10 years. After returning to Sacramento, CA another ministry was started "Word of the Kingdom Christian Ministries in 1999.
Pastor Amos started ministering a congregation in Pakistan in October of this year. He had a heart for the homeless and those in need. He started feeding and clothing the homeless.
Pastor Amos had three ladies that were a part of his life when he was called to the ministry.
Tommy was preceded in death by his daughter, Amber C. Amos, nine siblings, Earnestane Amos, Blanch Ruth Amos-Waldon, Eckie Amos, Benny Lee Amos, Robert Handy Amos, Marion Toliver Amos, Harold Amos and OOlistene Hapkins.
Tommy leaves to cherish hi memory, a loving daughter Alicia Rachelle Amos the mother of his daughters, Joyce Amos; devoted grandson, Amari Amos Williams, Alijah Williams and Kingston Amos;one brother, John Amos and one sister Bonny Clayton and other loving relatives and friends.
